Ratings agency actions on EU Banks

After Friday’s downgrade of three French banks by Moody’s, I though I’d conduct a summary of recent ratings agencies activity on EU Zone banks.

The table above is divided into “core” and periperal EU nations. The number in parenthesis is the total number of banks rating by each agency. The number to the left counts the banks downgraded over the period in question.

Interesting note: over the period in question there have been no bank upgrades by the ratings agencies, 17 banks in the “core” nations have been downgraded while 49 banks in peripheral nations have been downgraded.
